After purchasing a Huber Motor Grader, sight unseen, I was reluctant to do so considering the amount of funds required to make the purchase. With most companies, sellers or retail locations, it's common to receive adequate service to get the sell. However, with many concerns and questions regarding the Huber Grader, I wasn't sure what kind of communication, service, and appreciation I would receive.

Hi Eastern Surplus, I finally got my hands on the two Farymann diesels yesterday afternoon, and I wasted no time in digging right into the one that was difficult to turn.

I removed the cylinder head and as I suspected, water had entered the engine. Then I removed the piston, rod and cylinder together, finding the rings were seized in their grooves.

I was able to free the rings, and I removed them from the piston for cleaning. I went ahead and scraped (cut) the rust from the cylinder bore with an old knife and followed that with a cylinder hone.

I have certainly used worse cylinders in the past. I rinsed and drained the crankcase, as I found oily water there.

Tomorrow is assembly and start up day, God willing. I just wanted you to know that I had been looking for a deal on a Farymann 43F engine for some time, and I am very happy to get 2 engines. I hope to get them both running.


All too often folks complain about something regarding their orders.

I want to do the opposite and let you know the individual(s) that packaged my recent order did a tremendous job.

Despite how odd, large, and bulky some of the items were, it was packed with a lot of thought (and pride in one's work).

I wanted to email and let you know about the excellent service that I received from your company when I called yesterday inquiring about a part on your site for my M35A3. Bill answered the phone and was a great help, friendly and professional. He offed to transfer me to Joe in service to further help me with a steering issue I am having. Joe was also extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I explained to Joe the steering problem that I am having and that I am a mechanic by trade, but never really worked on vehicles like these and that my brain doesn't always function correctly when diagnosing my own vehicles. He made some suggestions and told me a few things to look for and try out before replacing any parts and to call him back if I needed anymore help. I believe that what he told me to do has fixed my problem as I messed with the truck last night, I will do some more testing this weekend. Please let Bill and Joe know that I greatly appreciate their help yesterday, Also, I want to thank you for employing people who have the key ingredients to offer great customer service. Thank you again, I greatly appreciate the time and effort I received from your staff and when I need parts or help in the future, I will be looking to Eastern Surplus first.

Good afternoon Doug,

I recieved all of the products about a week ago and everything seems to be in good shape. FedEx doesn't deliver to our area, so they shipped the last hundred miles by Canada Post, which was the reason I had included the post office box in the address, as I had a suspicion that that was going to be the end result. It all worked out in the end, as I live in a very small community and the local post office knows me ( we don't have door to door delivery from the post office here).

I want to thank you and your company for your patience with this order and I would be more than happy to do business with you again.
